Jeon Nok Du est le fils d'une famille noble. Sa famille a arrangé son mariage avec une jeune fille mais celui-ci ne souhaite en aucun cas se marier. Pour éviter le mariage, celui-ci s'enfuit de chez lui. Il se déguise alors en femme et se rend dans un village de veuves. Il y fait la connaissance de Dong Dong Ju qui suit une formation pour devenir gisaeng (courtisane), même si celle-ci ne souhaite pas en devenir une. Jeon Nok Du et Dong Dong Ju vont ensemble tout faire pour éviter leur destinée respective.

In return, she asks Yul Mu to tell the King that Nok Du has died.

Nok Du volunteers to keep working with the widows. And the wedding ceremony for Nok Du and Dong Joo is held. Every resident on the island comes to celebrate the couple. Nine years later, Yul Mu raises a revolt and takes away the throne. The Queen is sent to the island where Nok Du and Dong Joo live.
